Punavasal Musings

The apathy of urban citizens towards food, its source and the farming community, had reached appalling levels triggering an urgent need to create an awakening in the minds of all human beings that food is the greatest requirement and that its neglect could ruin mankind’s future beyond redemption in a very few years. The urge to write about the consequences of this apathy with the hope that there would be wider audience and circulation could only be fulfilled if these facts were intertwined with fiction.

With this venture, the urge to offer gratitude and fitting tribute to those 6 great men, namely, ARTHUR COTTON, NORMAN BORLAUG, LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI, C.SUBRAMANIAM, M. S. SWAMINATHAN AND VERGHESE KURIEN, who tirelessly worked for the upliftment of humanity by innovatively, but differently feeding the teeming millions, has been satiated and it is hoped that this book would find a place in many hearts, young and old.
