Some Do Not…" is the first novel in the "Parade's End" tetralogy written by Ford Madox Ford. Set against the backdrop of World War I and the shifting social landscape of early 20th century England, the story chronicles the life of Christopher Tietjens, an old-fashioned, principled, and tormented gentleman caught in a tumultuous relationship with his unfaithful wife Sylvia. As the war unfolds, Tietjens grapples with societal changes, personal dilemmas, and the vast gulf between his own values and the evolving world around him.
