La responsabilidad en el psicoanálisis no existe, solo puede ser atribuible a un sujeto. La noción de sujeto responsable en el psicoanálisis no se imagina ni se supone, sino que se ejerce. Se efectúa en ese límite que es el mismo donde se produce el acto de la palabra y sus consecuencias. No hay una responsabilidad sino responsabilidades —en plural— que conciernen a las diferentes respuestas subjetivas. De allí que su fundamento impone una reflexión ética propia del campo donde se practica, lo cual implica interrogarse tanto por el sufrimiento del ser hablante como por el deseo del psicoanalista.
