It examines the ongoing tug-of-war between mainstreaming, deaf schools, hearing aids, cochlear implants, sign language, speech therapy, and more. That Deaf Kid brings these issues to light and shows how it's possible to have a healthy balance. Most important, it builds a critical bridge between fitting in and belonging. When we cross that bridge, we encourage deaf and hard of hearing children to discover their authentic selves.
