Vinayak was blessed with Mr M G Godbole as a teacher, who was a voracious reader himself and introduced Vinayak to the magical world of books even beyond schooling years. Writer G N Dandekar, popularly known as GO NI DA influenced him immensely.

While being a diligent professional , he managed to travel extensively with his family and friends.
He started cycling at a young age of 50. With a singular aim of introducing the joy of cycling to anyone he meets , he started a cycling club. Now the members are spread far and wide in Konkan belt.
