ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

"The Indifferent Stars Above: The Harrowing Saga of a Donner Party Bride" by Daniel James Brown, recounts the experiences of Sarah Graves, a young woman who, along with her family, joined a wagon train heading west toward California in 1846. Driven by the promise of fertile lands and a better life, they were lured by Lansford Hastings's "Emigrants’ Guide to Oregon and California" and its promise of a shortcut.
