ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

Homer's The Odyssey recounts the epic journey of the hero Odysseus as he strives to return to his home in Ithaca after the Trojan War. The poem follows his arduous travels across stormy seas and through encounters with mythical beings, alongside the struggles of his son Telemachus as he seeks news of his father. A central focus is Odysseus's battle to overcome numerous obstacles and the challenges he faces upon his eventual arrival, where his household has been disrupted by unwelcome suitors vying for his wife Penelope.
