#3 The creation of Eve illustrates the equality between men and women, as well as the unity that is the ideal in every marriage. Eve was created out of Adam’s side to be his spiritual equal, and his perfect mate.

#4 The roles of men and women were clearly defined by God. Men were given the role of headship in the church and in marriage, while women were given a subordinate role. Yet both were equal to one another.
