Dying Room Only

The ballroom of the Pennyfoot Hotel is packed when the Great Denmarric locks his assistant inside a magic cabinet and promises to make her disappear. When he opens the doors moments later, the box is empty—and the magician appears every bit as astonished as his audience.

The trick becomes far more sinister when the missing woman is found murdered.

With the ballroom sealed off and the hotel’s guests buzzing with suspicion, Cecily Sinclair must determine how the illusion was performed, where the victim went—and who was waiting for her when she vanished.

Behind the Pennyfoot’s elegant façade, Edwardian aristocrats carry on secret affairs, gamble in hidden rooms, and rely on the downstairs staff to guard their indiscretions. But a murder committed during a crowded performance threatens to expose far more than theatrical secrets.

As fear spreads through the hotel, Cecily must unmask a killer before the next disappearance becomes permanent.

A spellbinding locked-room mystery filled with stage magic, impossible clues, backstage deception, and a resourceful female investigator.
