Hex

Set in the Hugo Award–winning author's Coyote Universe, a science fiction story of an alien civilization offering humanity a brave new world to colonize.

A species that has always kept to themselves, the arachnid-like danui are brilliant engineers, and one of the most respected member races of the alien coalition known as the Talus—which now includes the Coyote Federation, representing humankind, among them. With no previous communication between them, Coyote's leaders are surprised when the danui make contact to offer humans an unoccupied, habitable planet to colonize.

Captain Andromeda Carson leads a mission to investigate the danui's gift world only to discover it is actually a colossal artificial sphere constructed of billions of hexagons, dwarfing the solar system it resides in. While exploring the potential new home, Carson uncovers secrets that force her to question what the danui's true motives and intentions are towards humanity.

"Steele has been progressively widening the screen throughout this series, and with Hex he bumps the aspect ratio up to IMAX level and sits us in a front-row seat." —Locus
