Halloween is drawing near and the autumn darkness is sweeping in over the small west coast town of Västernäs, where Eira Lindberg runs her bookshop. But why did the murderer hang the head on Eira's door of all places?

The gruesome murder becomes the start of a deadly game of cat and mouse, forcing Eira to confront herself and her unknown family background. Because how is it, really, that she's the only werelynx in Västernäs...?
