Practical Forging and Art Smithing

This vintage book contains a comprehensive guide to forging and blacksmithing, originally intended to be used by teachers of industrial arts. It was written by a master craftsman in wrought metal and contains a wealth of useful tips and simple instructions for making a variety of objects and tools. This volume will be of considerable utility to novice metalworkers and would make for a worthy addition to collections of allied literature. Contents include: "The Forge". "Electric Weld", "Scarfing", "Upsetting", "Corner Weld", "Brazing", "Fagot Weld", "Staples", "Open Links", "Welded Chain Lines", "Bolts", "Cupping Tools", "Gate Hook", "Making Tongs", "Pig Iron", "Puddling", "The Open Hearth Process", "Crucible Steel", "Making a Flat Cold Chisel", et cetera. Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern edition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction on metal work.
