Summer Assignment

He returned to Japan looking for a piece of his past. Instead, he was handed a mission that could change his future forever.

Former U.S. Army airborne soldier Trevor Camille has spent years away from Japan—the country he once called home. When he finally returns with his wife for a long-awaited summer visit, he expects familiar streets, old memories, and the chance to reconnect with a life he left behind.

Then the call comes.

An American intelligence operative wants Trevor's help with what should be a simple assignment: use his knowledge of Japan, his language skills, and instincts sharpened by military service to quietly investigate something others have overlooked.

But the deeper Trevor digs, the less ordinary the mission becomes.

Hidden identities. Altered records. People who seem to exist under more than one name. And somewhere beneath it all, a mysterious permissions map capable of opening doors that were meant to remain closed.

Soon Trevor realizes he hasn't simply stumbled onto an intelligence operation.

He's stepped into a conspiracy.

And the very familiarity that made him valuable may also make him vulnerable.

Set against the streets of Tokyo and Kanagawa, Summer Assignment is a fast-paced, character-driven espionage thriller about memory, identity, loyalty, and the dangerous secrets hiding beneath seemingly ordinary lives.

The mission was supposed to last one summer. What Trevor uncovers is only the beginning.
