Some pasts one can never truly hide from. Even a galaxy away. Having fled their troubled pasts, Izbel and Manaat have made a new home on Sa12, a remote and quiet planet at the edge of the Galactic Arm. But when they apply for a procreation permit and fly to the administrative station in orbit, they attract unwanted attention. One of the station's administrators asks to meet them. Among the thousands aboard, why is he asking specifically for them? What if he knows who they really are? And if so, should they fight—or flee once more? The Runaways is a tense science fiction thriller about the consequences of past choices. This standalone novella set in a vast and compelling universe is sure to delight fans of Martha Wells' Murderbot Diaries or Ann Leckie's Imperial Radch series.
