Poor Folk

Poor Folk is a novella by Fyodor Dostoevsky that tells the story of two poor, young lovers, Makar and Varya. The two are desperately in love, but their love is forbidden due to their social status. They must struggle against all odds just to be together. The novella is a heartbreaking look at the power of love in the face of poverty and social stigma.
