The Past

You can’t change the past.

One moment, one turn, one small bump, changed everything.

No one tells you how agonizing losing your best friend will be, but then again, no one expects a sixteen-year-old to lose his life.

That’s what happened, though, when my best friend, Corbin, raced in a street race the day he got his license.

It was only after his death that I learned the truth. Only after his death did I learn how deep his pain was.

Now, I need to help Caiden. His pain is bigger than Corbin’s, and his heart is fragile. He doesn’t trust easily, but I have it. That is until I blow it, because of Corbin. Now, Caiden is about to do the very thing that took Corbin from me, and I have to prove his life is worth more than one race.
