Happy New Year! We now know that Christmas is the birth of the Light of the world and the beginning of the death of darkness. In order for our reorientation toward Christmas to be complete, we need to have somewhat of a more accurate grasp on the darkness that will be extinguished. Our modernized thinking has lead of to believe that ancient darkness remained in antiquity and does not plague us today. You are sadly mistaken. Jesus said that we will have trouble in this world. As we go through a list of how dark the world truly is, we can take heart - Jesus has overcome the world!
