Sexual Assault and Working Through Trauma with Jimanekia Eborn

In this episode, Hannah is joined by Jimanekia Eborn, who is a queer sexual assault and trauma expert, trauma media consultant, and comprehensive sex educator. Jimanekia and Hannah talk about why Jimanekia calls herself the trauma queen, how her personal experience of trauma led to her working in mental health and sex ed. Jimanekia discusses why trauma consultants for screen are so important, her work in diversifying intimacy coordination, and training coordinators to work with themes of trauma and to spot potential traumatic experiences for actors on set. Finally, Jimanekia talks about healing and reconnecting with your body and sexuality after trauma, how we hold trauma in our body as well as our minds, and how confusing genital non concordance during traumatic experiences can be.
