In part one of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, with a person of interest released by police in Providence RI, a killer remains on the loose and decisions are now being made on resuming classes or not at Brown University and to reinstate a shelter in place for people in nearby neighborhoods. Investigators still have no credible leads in solving the case. Also Australian officials say the Bondi Beach shooters carried bombs and ISIS flags and had recently traveled to the Philippines, confirming the attack that killed 15 was ISIS-inspired. President Trump's post on Truth Social regarding the tragic death of director Rob Reiner was disappointing and mis-guided. The President clearly not connecting the dots as he accused the late actor of suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome". Also a Rasmussen pollster challenges the President's remarks and promises that, according to him, remains undefined and unfulfilled.

12-15-25 Part Two - Life is Short

In part one of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele have died, according to LA Mayor Bass. Best known for his role as Meathead in "All in the Family" and for his directorial success with films including "Spinal Tap", "When Harry Met Sally..." and "The Princess Bride," Reiner has long resided in Brentwood, Los Angeles. He and his wife were 78 and 68, respectively. Details remain unconfirmed but sources say he and his wife were stabbed to death. Reiner's son Nick is a person of interest. 

Also multiple dead and several wounded after mass shooting at Brown University Saturday afternoon. Police in Providence, RI have released a person of interest. The gunman remains at large. And tragedy in Australia as 16 are dead, including the gunman, after a father-son duo opens fire on a Jewish community celebrating Hanukkah. Some 40 were injured in Australia's worse ever mass shooting on Bondi Beach in Sydney. And President Trump vows "massive retaliation" after a tragic shooting in Syria. The weekend ambush occurred in Palmyra when a lone Islamic State gunman targeted a group of Iowa Army National Guard soldiers. The attack killed two American soldiers, a U.S. civilian interpreter and wounded three additional U.S. soldiers. 

And sad news from our industry as former longtime talk radio host David Gold has died at age 75. Gold launched his career in the late 1970s in Denver. He would go on to work at WPLP-AM, Tampa before moving to KLIF, Dallas where he was on air from 1986 to 1997.

Also a big battle yesterday at the White House over the economy, Kilmar Abrego Garcia released after judge rules Trump admin lacked valid removal order and Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro warned that his country must "stand like warriors … ready to smash the teeth of the North American empire" Wednesday, a moment that coincided with the U.S. seizure of an oil tanker off Venezuela’s coast.

12-12-25 Part One - Gerrymandering in Indiana

In part two of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, Americans and patients in other countries compare health care from medication expenses to emergency care costs as health care reform is being legislated. Bottom Line .. in about 22 days, a large portion of government health care subsidies expire, affecting the cost and availability of insurance for no less than millions of people. And yet, Congress is set to leave Washington in two weeks. While we suddenly have a number of plans to try to fix this problem, there is also Republican paralysis over which one they want. Only time will tell.

Anyway (and also) House GOP leaders will bring a vote next week on a package of health care bills that does not include an extension of expiring Obama Care enhanced subsidies as Republicans remain divided about how to address the health care cliff ahead of a midterm election year, the Federal Reserve announced Wednesday a quarter percentage point cut to its overnight lending rate and more on the Russian hoax.
