Former Republican nominee for Congress and 14 year Air Force veteran Tamika Hamilton, sits down with Bridget to discuss the realities of running for office. Tamika shares what drove her to run for Congress, the process a normal person has to figure out along the way, the money necessary for an effective campaign, the need for volunteers, and why we should all get more involved. She and Bridget cover what it's like for a black woman to run for office in the Republican party, the areas where she sees Democrats being more successful than Republicans, why Republican candidates need to start appealing towards people in the center rather than their base, the need to present a more optimistic vision of our future, and why the party as a whole needs to have a more empathetic approach.
