Brilliant sneak peak into the regional and cultural histories. I like the way Shashma and Sreelakshmi Jayachandran narrates the stories. Amazing and breath taking.

വടക്കൻ കേരളത്തിന്റെ ഗ്രാമീണ ഗൃഹാതുരതയുണർത്തുന്ന തെയ്യം എന്ന അനുഷ്ഠാനകലയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർ തീർച്ചയായും വായിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ട പുസ്തകങ്ങളിലൊന്ന്. പോയ്‌പോയ ഭൂതകാലത്തിന്റെ നന്മതിന്മകളിലേക്കും തെയ്യം എന്ന കലാരൂപത്തിന്റെ ആവിർഭാവത്തിന് അന്നത്തെ സാമൂഹികസാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ കാരണഭൂതമായി വർത്തിച്ചു എന്നതിലേക്കും കഥാകാരൻ മാക്കത്തിന്റെ പുനരാവിഷ്കരണത്തിലൂടെ നമ്മെ നയിക്കുകയാണ്. അതേ, "ഓരോ തെയ്യവും ഓരോ നിലവിളിയാണ്."പുസ്തകത്തോട് പൂർണമായും നീതി പുലർത്തുന്ന അവതരണത്തിന് ശ്രീലക്ഷ്മി ജയചന്ദ്രനും അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങൾ.

4.5 stars. Maakkam's story was very interesting. I also loved the writing style. Highly recommended!
