The annoying romanticism of an utterly abusive person and imposition of his desires and wants on an unwilling and unwitting participant just to indulge in his own fantasies is quite reprehensible. Ateen was overall a completely rapey character and kept on blackmailing Surma emotionally so that she acquiesced to his whims. I am generally a fan of love stories but this was just a badly constructed story with glorification of abuse.
