Eleanor Oliphant has learned how to survive – but not how to live
Eleanor Oliphant leads a simple life. She wears the same clothes to work every day, eats the same meal deal for lunch every day and buys the same two bottles of vodka to drink every weekend.
Eleanor Oliphant is happy. Nothing is missing from her carefully timetabled life. Except, sometimes, everything.
One simple act of kindness is about to shatter the walls Eleanor has built around herself. Now she must learn how to navigate the world that everyone else seems to take for granted – while searching for the courage to face the dark corners she’s avoided all her life.
Change can be good. Change can be bad. But surely any change is better than… fine?
‘Heartwrenching and wonderful’ Nina Stibbe
‘Deft, compassionate and moving’ Paula McLain
‘I adored it. Skilled, perceptive, Eleanor's world will feel familiar to you from the very first page. An outstanding debut!’ Joanna Cannon

Oh my God, I think I've never ever read such a heartwarming book!! This story, this point of view was just something really different. I felt it! Such a horrible situation and yet, what a character development! We really don't have any clue what is happening to people, what loneliness means and what causes it. I understand it now a little better. Let's be more kind to each other, let's SEE each other. This is all it takes to save someone's life. Highly recommend this book to everyone, it's something special.

Bellissima storia, commovente e dolce. La lettrice è straordinaria, molti lettori/lettrici italiane dovrebbero imparare da lei come si rende un libro già bello, speciale.

It’s wonderful to see the development of this character.. at first she feels so strange/distance but you end the book and you feel like she’s your friend.I’ll miss you Eleanor!

Una bella introspezione nell'animo umano e nelle difficoltà a relazionarsi col passato e con gli altri. Lettura consigliata.
