Constant pain is uncomfortable, wearing on the nerves and can be depressing. Daily practice of breathing and relaxation encourages production of endorphins which are a natural pain reliever. This guided relaxation also helps reduce tension in the body and mind, releases toxins and can help during periods of acute pain. Allowing the body to relax, and releasing the breath rather than resisting pain, can ease the symptoms and helps avoid a vicious circle of creating further tension.
