Two girls embark on a summer of montage-worthy dates (with a few strings attached) in this hilarious and heartfelt lesbian rom-com that’s perfect for fans of Becky Albertalli and Jenny Han. Seventeen-year-old cynic Saoirse Clarke isn’t looking for a relationship. But when she meets mischievous Ruby, that rule goes right out the window. Sort of. Because Ruby has a loophole in mind: a summer of all the best cliché movie montage dates, with a definite ending come fall—no broken hearts, no messy breakup. It would be the perfect plan, if they weren’t forgetting one thing about the Falling in Love Montage: when it’s over, the characters have fallen in love...for real. Ciara Smyth’s debut is a delightful, multilayered YA rom-com that will make you laugh, cry, and absolutely fall in love.

What I liked about this novel is that yes, the main characters is a lesbian, but te story is not some cheap telling of the sexuality discovery but about her life. Truly loved it! Tots recommended

I really thought this was going to be a 3,5/4 stars read, pretty standard and with the same old plot, and OH BOY was I wrong!!This is a simple, heartwarming book about two young girls struggling to conciliate the decision on what to do with their life after high school and their family. Our protagonist, Saoirse, is your typical sarcastic seventeen-year-old whose life hasn't been kind to her and she has some pretty self-deprecating and self-destructive behavior all throughout the narration and all I wanted to do was take her in my arms and hug the hurt away. The love interest, Ruby, was really cute and loving and literally a saint for putting up with Saoirse rules about dating, or not dating, girls. I really liked Oliver and if this were a straight romance novel, he and Saoirse would make the perfect enemies-to-lovers couple, with all the bickering and the "we-are-nemesis-not-friends", it was really really cute and I wish there was more of this friendship in the book.
