As they debate the generosity and fickleness of the pagans while reaffirming their faith in the face of their enemies' greed, they prepare to secure a sacred offering originating from a temple in Pompeii. Rich in satirical dialogue and mystical references, the narrative explores the conflict between the sacred and the profane, culminating in an unexpected moment when the appearance of a singular animal disrupts the ritual order, symbolizing the rupture of traditions and the fragility of convictions.
