Address Book is a rare glimpse into a present-day crisis and an intimate coming-of-age story set in a Jewish family in New York during the 1960s and 1970s. It invites readers to reflect on how earlier experiences shape the way they respond to illness, loss, and uncertainty, and how making meaning of those experiences can help move beyond coping and toward connection and healing. Transgenerational trauma, survivorship, the Holocaust, illness, and childhood are themes woven through this raw look at familial relationships.
Cheryl Stern is a licensed therapist who has been in private practice for 33 years. She earned her MSW from the University of Michigan School of Social Work in Ann Arbor and is currently a doctoral candidate completing her dissertation at the Institute for Clinical Social Work in Chicago.
Creatively, Cheryl was a member of The Writers Circle for over ten years, and her work has been read on local radio and at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in South Florida, where she lives with her husband and their Havapoo, Benny.
Throughout her career, Cheryl has focused on women's issues and post-traumatic growth.
