Crooken Sands

An English merchant becomes enchanted by the traditional dress of Highland chiefs during a family holiday to Scotland. Commissioning his own outfit, he insists on wearing it, much to the embarrassment of his family and the amusement of the locals. When warned by a man known for his premonitions of doom, the merchant scoffs at the prophecy - but his encounter with his own doppelganger and a perilous encounter with quicksand proves too chilling to ignore.
