My Religion

My Religion is a profound work of spiritual and philosophical reflection in which Leo Tolstoy presents his deeply personal interpretation of Christian teachings and their practical application to everyday life. this influential work examines the moral principles that guided Tolstoy's later years, emphasizing compassion, nonviolence, humility, and the pursuit of truth. Drawing inspiration from the teachings of Jesus, particularly the Sermon on the Mount, Tolstoy challenges conventional religious practices and argues that genuine faith is expressed through ethical living rather than ritual or institutional authority. He encourages readers to embrace love, forgiveness, simplicity, and personal responsibility as the foundation of a meaningful and peaceful life.
