Horrible. Just horrible. The first few books in the series are quite alright. Not that imaginative, but amusing enough. Throughout the series you sense a heavy religious undertone, but this is bearable: one could argue another world might also have a religion. Since Narnia has a storyline which reminds of the medieval European knight-stories, why not use the same religious overtones: Christianity. "Don't eat the apple", dying (and resurrecting) for other people's sins, a divine creature who is "the son of the Great Emperor" and Creator of Narnia...But then comes the last installment of the series. "The last Battle". All pretence of fantasy is dropped and the Chronicles of Narnia are revealed to be nothing more than a Christian analogy. Being an Atheist, I hated it. It immediately transported me back to my youth growing up in the Bible-belt. It's that bad.If you're an Atheist, do yourself a favour: DON'T LISTEN TO THE LAST BOOK!!! Trust me. It will taint all other books in the series.

Great story and world building, but could have done without the Christian innuendos. Didn't age as well as several other series in its genre.
