Wow! What a refreshing and surprisingly good book! Nice twist at the end😉The reading was awesome, really enjoyed it. This is definitely recommended!

VermakelijkI liked this book, it’s written from the perspective of a girl who has difficulty reading emotions from peoples faces. And that’s well done!

HartverwarmendSaaiThough probably correctly described as a quirky and cozy murder "mystery"; 'The Maid' is overexplained and over-described in every possible way and the story and characters becomes tired and obvious within a couple of pages. There are no real breadcrumbs towards the actual murderer... so it's a bit of an Oceans 13 thing.

VermakelijkThis was book is a 3,5 stars with me. It is extremely readable, and the story flows along nicely.However the whole plot here hinges on the fact that the main character Molly is unbearably obtuse. Now there is a few moments in the first half of the book where this becomes so extreme it is unbelievable. However as the novel progresses, the character grows a bit and becomes a lot more enjoyable and interesting.I did however get a very strong feeling that the author was lining the story up for a certain conclusion. Only for her to chicken out at the very end. This is assumption, but I’m almost certain that this was originally the case. That ending would have been a satisfactory, albeit a somewhat darker one. Instead we now get a killer that comes out of left field a bit and that conclusion is too safe and doesn’t satisfy… This really hurts the novel…Also: no security cameras in this hotel???

PageturnerSo pissed how the police just glosses over the fact that Molly is neurodivergent. WTF. I didn’t like this book much because Molly rambles a lot.
