"The Vision of the Fountain (From "Twice Told Tales")" by Nathaniel Hawthorne is a short sketch of life in 19th century New England. In this tale, Hawthorne narrates his life as a fifteen-year-old boy. On one autumn day, he sees a vision of a beautiful girl twice in one day. The first time, while he's in the woods, and later at sunset. After three months of searching and wondering if he'll ever see her again, he finally does, and realizes this angel he'd built up in his head is more normal than he realized.
