Frozen Fire

Terrorists create a deadly disaster after disrupting a billionaire's plan to mine beneath the Caribbean Sea in this techno-thriller by the New York Times–bestselling authors of Category 7 and Dry Ice. "Ever wonder the result if Harold Robbins had written a disaster novel? . . . This one [is] perfect for lazing on the beach or passing time in the airport." —Booklist Deep under the ocean's floor lie pockets of frozen methane, a potentially massive alternative fuel source for a planet hungry for more power. Methan crystals burn quickly and easily with no toxic by-products—but methane gas is highly toxic and explosive. Billionaire businessman Dennis Cavendish has bank-rolled the cutting-edge science that will allow the methane crystals to be mined safely from below the bottom of the sea. Dennis is poised to become the world's largest—and richest—supplier of clean energy . . . Until ecoterrorists kill his science team and set off an ongoing release of gigatons of poisonous methane into the water and air. Within moments, a circle of death begins to spread out from a tiny island in the Caribbean. Suspected of sabotage, Cavendish's beautiful and brainy security chief, Victoria Clark, along with methane expert Dr. Sam Briscoe and the U.S. government, must find a way to seal the break in the ocean floor and nullify the methane before it irrevocably damages the planet's ecosystem.
