Immortals explores the remarkable stories of 50 great racehorse champions, focusing on horses in and beyond Europe.

Since National Hunt racing was first standardised in the 19th century, countless winter warriors have given the jump-racing public limitless joy, and filled our memories with wonder and respect. Every steeplechaser and hurdler that has ever raced has given its connections a thrill – but very few can truly be thought of as ‘great’.

Starting with a Grand National hero from the turn of the 20th century, and continuing through to the present day, this evocative book uncovers tales about legends of the jump-racing world who were trained in the UK, Ireland, France and even in the USA and Australia.

Written with humour, passion and solid research, this book is an essential read for race lovers around the world, both young and old.
