Teresa wants Liam, but Liam resists. The broody former foster child detests her rarefied world and has no wish to reenact Lady Chatterley’s Lover. Fate has other plans.

No stranger to adversity, Liam Ryan has also cheated death. He kept himself and his twin sister safe through a tough childhood in the foster care system. Three years later an investigator locates him working as a security guard in Jerusalem.

Scarred mentally and physically by his ordeal, Liam needs space to decide what comes next. So he agrees to join his sister Ali and her new husband Joe at their sprawling estate in Port Townsend. Joe’s sister Teresa, fleeing a broken engagement and her controlling mother, also comes to stay. Liam mistrusts rich people, but Teresa, the kind of society princess he would normally avoid at all costs, is hard to resist. Especially when she becomes suspiciously accident prone and in need of a protector.
