It was such a beautiful and fluffy book. I loved the fact that the author had added the main character to be with autism. It is such an aware and beautiful addition to the story.
Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny, but he doesn’t experience big, important emotions like love and grief. Rather than believing he processes emotions differently due to being autistic, he concludes that he’s defective and decides to avoid romantic relationships. So his mother, driven to desperation, takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect mail-order bride. As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity to marry an American arises, she leaps at it, thinking that it could be the break her family needs. Seducing Khai, however, doesn’t go as planned. Esme’s lessons in love seem to be working...but only on herself. She’s hopelessly smitten with a man who believes he can never return her affection. Esme must convince Khai that there is more than one way to love. And Khai must figure out the inner workings of his heart before Esme goes home and is an ocean away.

Helen Hoang’s ‘The Bride Test’ is just your usual romantic drama. The beautiful damsel in distress Esme getting saved by the tall, handsome and masculine (and rich too, because in love stories the guy has to be rich right!) Khai Diep. Esme travels all the way from Vietnam to America to seduce Khai into marrying him, only to realize the importance of self-worth in the process. Eventually everything settles, with some secrets or the other, spilling out from here and there for a happy reunion. At home and with nothing else to do, I have started watching K-dramas and this story is very similar to the hundreds of shows I have already seen. So far, nothing unique. Even Esme’s baby girl couldn’t stirup the emotional aspect missing here. The chemistry between the leads fizzle out even before beginning and all I could think about the whole duration of this audiobook was, just when it’s gonna end. I would recommend watching kdrama ‘The King’ on Netflix instead. Atleast the story is new <sigh>.

Really good but ending was so dragged out. Oh so much drama. But nonetheless, enjoyed it a lot.

Esme journey though seemed predictable, was so heartwarming, and the ending couldn't have been thought out better.

Också en mysig och romantisk bok även om den förra är absolut favorit.

It’s too cliche plus can the author stop describing body parts!! I hate when author put a lot emphasis on toned bodies and perky breasts, not everyone looks like a model !! Be more inclusive for god sake
