You Can't See Them. But They Can See You. This forest isn't charted on any map. Every car breaks down at its treeline. Mina's is no different. These creatures emerge to observe their captive humans and terrible things happen to anyone who doesn't reach the bunker in time. Afraid and trapped among strangers, Mina is desperate for answers. Annorlunda och spännande. Inte så trovärdig i alla aspekter (hur kan ett så stort område i Skottland inte finnas på en karta?) men om man bortser från det så är boken innovativ och underhållande. Väl värd att läsa!

As beautiful as the English language gets. Irish author, setting, and narrator make this a true guilty pleasure. Exciting story that unfolds quickly with some unfortunately predictable twists and some unanswered questions. Why the bird? I do recommend this book enthusiastically for a fun read. No one uses the English language like the Irish. Dumb personal opinion: using “myriad” 4x is too many for one book. I did find it confusing that the 3 main female characters are named Madeleine, Mina, & Kira, in such a quickly unfolding story. Would have appreciated a bit more differentiation. Ignore my complaints. It’s a super natural thriller so suspend all logic, disbelief, or it’s going to frustrate you. This book is a winner.

Sjukt bra bok. Boken smyger sig på en och omvandlar irländsk folklore till något påtagligt och kusligt. Älskar Jacqueline Milne som narrator.
