Morten Remar (b. 1960) is a musician, songwriter, and lead singer of the pop duo Back to Back. Since 2016, he has established himself as an author of various crime and suspense novels. His books primarily appeal to adult readers of Danish crime fiction and thrillers.

His debut novel, *Amok* (2016), strikes a satirical tone, whereas later works such as *Detonator* (2017) and *Den sporløse* (2018) mark a shift toward a more classic crime genre, centering on police investigators. The trilogy featuring journalist Jakob Fink—comprising *Skyggemord* (2019), *Skalpel* (2020), and *Mestermanden* (2022)—explores the gray areas between truth, ethics, and personal survival.

More recently, Remar has written provincial crime novels such as *Kvinden under jorden* (2024), *Manden med stenansigtet* (2025), and *Drengen i glasset* (2026). Set in the Viborg area, these stories focus on character-driven conflicts.

His style is characterized by fluid prose and a focus on plot, pacing, and realistic settings. Recurring themes include the abuse of power, guilt, double lives, and morality, often with an emphasis on human vulnerability and relationships.

His body of work ranges from intense thrillers to more classic, shorter crime stories, such as the series featuring investigators Hoffmeyer and Olsen—for instance, *Døden på præstegården*.

Morten Remar’s books are part of the modern Danish crime fiction tradition, appealing to readers who seek exciting, accessible stories set in Danish environments and featuring relatable characters.
