يعد الكاتب اللبناني ابراهيم زيدان ( ولد عام ١٨٧٩م ببيروت – وتوفي بالقاهرة عام ١٩٥٦م ) من الكتاب الذين شغفوا بالطرائف والنوادر ، وقد نشر عدة كتب تهتم بهذا الموضوع منها : "نوادر الكرام" و"نوادر العشاق" . وهذا الكتاب "النوادر المطربة" يضم بين دفتيه مجموعة من النوادر انتقاها الكاتب من أمهات كتب التراث العربي، مثل «الأغاني» للأصفهاني و«جمهرة أشعار العرب» للقرشي و«البيان والتبيين» للجاحظ، حيث تضم تلك المختارات نوادر شعرية وأخرى طريفة تتناول مواقفا فكاهية والبعض الآخر منها رباعيات .
