من يتمتع بشغف الابحار في نفائس كتب التراث لابد وأن يجد بينها الكثير من النوادر واللطائف التي قد تحمل أحيانا في ظاهرها العبث والسخرية، لكن يظل في مضمونها الكثير من الأفكار والقيم التي تستحق البحث.. هكذا هو تراثنا العربي يظل دائما عامرا بكل جديد، مهما تعمق في القدم ويظل أيضا هو المادة الخام البكر التي ينهل من معينها كل مبدع وفنان، فما جمعه الجاحظ من نوادر البلاء وطرائف المعلمين والأدباء وما ضمه المستطرف وكتاب الأذكياء والحمقى والمغفلين وما حكي عن جحا وأشعب وأبو نواس ونوادر النحاة وغيرهم في بطون الكتب، ستبقى حكايات تحمل اأكثر من معنى ودلالة وأكثر من قيمة مهما تطور الابداع ..كما صارت من قبل ألف ليلة وليلة هي مصدر للخيال والسحر والحكاية التي تمتد وتتطور، لذلك حين نختار ونعيد بعض تلك الحكايات والنوادر ،فإننا لسنا فقط نصنع كتابا للمرح والابتسامة ،ولكننا نحافظ على تراث وأفكار تحمل أكثر من معنى يمكن عليها البناء والإضافة.
