Der Autor hat seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre ein DDR-Glossar mit Hunderten Stichworten erarbeitet, nicht im lupenreinen Lexikonstil, sondern meist feuilletonistisch und nicht ohne Polemik. Für einige seiner Bücher mit DDR-Bezug hat er daraus zum besseren Textverständnis bzw. zum Erschließen jeweils ein gesondertes Glossar erarbeitet und dieses teils in den jeweiligen Anhang mit historischen Inhalten eingeordnet. Einen Anspruch an Vollständigkeit hat das Werk bei Weitem nicht, es ist kein Lexikon. Von A wie "abkindern" bis Z wie "Zensur"
