Diese gehört dem Kollegienassessor Kowaljow, den er mittwochs und sonntags zu rasieren pflegt. Jakowlewitsch wirft die Nase voller Entsetzen in die Newa. Kowaljow hingegen stellt beim Aufwachen fest, dass seine Nase verschwunden ist. Auf dem Weg zum Polizeirevier läuft ihm seine Nase über den Weg. Der Staatsrat trägt sie nun. Eine obskure Verfolgungsjagd beginnt.
