Eindelik verby die drentelgrens
van hul twee eensaamhede haal
hy haar, sy hom, weer in en wens
verwonderd om nooit af te dwaal:
hul dae n herhalende begin
n wisseling van vergesigte waar
versperring nie bespeur word, alles glim,
verrassend skoongewas en klaar.
Tog, in n aanval van omsigtigheid
ons leer algaande ons perke ken, sê hy
herinner hul mekaar aan eindigheid.
En sien die einder weer vergly.
