"Alex London is a force to be reckoned with." —Marie Lu, New York Times–bestselling author of the Legend trilogy In the wake of the Jubilee, Syd has become the figurehead of the revolution. Some see him as a savior to be worshipped, while others want him dead. Fortunately, now that the Rebooters are in charge, Syd has a bodyguard. Seventeen-year-old Liam—with his robotic hand, killer instincts, and gentle eyes—is ready to give his life to protect Syd, but armed Machinists aren't the only looming threat. A mysterious disease is transforming people into dangerous, black-veined zombies, and the governing Council is indifferent to the crisis. Syd realizes it's up to him to find a cure, but his search yields some disturbing answers . . . Praise for Guardian "Corrupt powers, budding romance, an epidemic and grisly action synthesize to sate sci-fi fans." —Kirkus Reviews "Proxy fans will be satisfied with the constant action and the conclusion to Syd's story." —School Library Journal "Nonstop action and breakneck pace characterize this exceptional thriller. London provides his audience with an intricate plot, enriched by fine world-building and believable characters. . . . This thought-provoking and breathtaking novel belongs in all collections serving young adults." —Voice of Youth Advocates (VOYA)
