But with my luck, that might be difficult.

Thought-provokingConfusingSmartBoringInformativeI nearly didn't finish listening to the audiobook. I found the narrator to be a little flat in tone, and the range was not great. I carried on and told myself the narrator suits the FMC, which is kind of true. Also, true, I may not have been the right moods for this type of book.It struck me as a very young adult. A book to open up minds as the FMC expands and grows. The FMC is not bad. She is strong after all she has gone through and how she's been treated. The neglect and abandoned make me so angry on her behalf, and you learn how she is pretty cool, always helping and trying to learn to better herself. The way the character is written, she strikes me as 16 instead of 20. So a coming if age story.The whole magic world thing is almost background noise to her struggles to get by and find herself and the future.There is no love, obvious love interest, and no spice or smut. There is action, but nothing impactful, and I feel like a slow build for what is to come 3.4 stars
