Open Wings

Far from the front lines, life at the country vicarage seems untouched by war. For Lorna, duty comes before dreams and caring for her younger brothers and sisters' leaves little room for romance, despite the quiet devotion of the town's young doctor, who longs to marry her. She cares for him deeply, but only as part of the family she has always known.

Then Jimmy Braith arrives.

A handsome RAF officer recovering from war wounds at the nearby Hall, Jimmy awakens feelings in Lorna she has never experienced before. Swept away by passion, she follows her heart without looking back. But marriage brings more than love: a family of strangers, jealousy and doubt, and a beautiful rival determined to steal her husband away. As the world around her begins to unravel and war come closer in, Lorna must face a painful question — has she found true love, or sacrificed everything for a fleeting dream?
