#1 I had a bad feeling about the cigarette deal, and I was right. Luigi called me two more times to insist that I come to him because it was raining, but I refused. I knew he was itching to use violence inside or outside the organization to make a point.

#2 I was in a tight spot. I couldn’t go into Luigi’s neighborhood, but there were too many risks to our overall operation for me to just walk away and go home for the night. I made a battlefield decision and told Marco about my ongoing problems with Lui the Dog.

#3 I was waiting for Ragusa, a mobster, to arrive. As he came busting in through the side door, he started yukking it up, yelling and guffawing, doing the whole wiseguy routine. He must have realized he was nowhere near being the highest rung on the ladder, because his behavior changed.

#4 I was counting out cash from my deals with the Gambino gang, when I saw Luigi, a member of the family, come outside to get his cigarettes. I took advantage of the situation and stuck it to him, explaining that he looked like someone I knew.
