#1 Dialogue is a conversation with a center. It is a method of taking the energy of our differences and channeling it toward something that has never been created before. It lifts us out of polarization and into a greater common sense.

#2 Dialogue is a flow of meaning that attempts to solve problems at the source rather than the result of a process. It seeks to change the underlying structures that produce fragmentation, rather than the physical components of a conversation.

#3 The ideas in this book emerged from work done first in association with physicist David Bohm beginning in the early 1980s, and later at MIT’s Center for Organizational Learning. Now many corporations and communities have been experimenting with dialogue, and producing powerful results.
