Fantasy & SciFi

Escape to Windwhistle, a village perched on the edge of whispering cliffs, where the very air hums with ancient magic and forgotten memories. At its heart lies Eira Thorne’s bakery, a haven of warm bread and the comforting pronouncements of Crumb, her sentient sourdough starter. Eira infuses her pastries with Whispering Magic, an art that binds emotions and memories into every delectable crumb. But the tranquility is shattered when a cloaked figure arrives, seeking Forget-Me-Nots, blueberry tarts rumored to erase painful memories.

Baking the tarts unleashes a creeping unease. The whispers twist, turning malevolent, and curses blight the land. Crumb’s gurgles grow frantic, warning of a forgotten entity stirring in the whispering forests. An ancient feud with the shadowed village of Oakhaven is just the tip of a chilling iceberg.

Eira isn't alone. She's joined by Holly, an apprentice grappling with her own forgotten past, and Sir Peren, a retired knight haunted by battles he can no longer fight. Their quest leads them into the whispering forests, where they barter with capricious fae folk for rare, magical ingredients. But the deeper they venture, the louder the whispers become, revealing that each stolen memory fuels the entity’s power.

Oakhaven, shrouded in perpetual twilight, holds the key. Its bitter inhabitants guard their secrets fiercely, but Eira senses a shared sorrow, a connection to the entity that holds them captive. Unraveling the cloaked figure’s tragic story—a grieving mother named Elara—Eira discovers a terrible truth: the Forget-Me-Nots amplified Elara's grief, inadvertently feeding the entity.

A forgotten memory of Eira's grandmother, the previous baker, reveals a centuries-old pact with the entity, a bargain meant to protect Windwhistle that now threatens to consume the land’s magic entirely. As the midsummer festival approaches, the entity looms large, threatening to engulf both villages.

Will Eira succumb to the destructive potential of amplified Whispering Magic, obliterating every memory tied to the land? Or will she forge a new path, one of remembrance and forgiveness? The fate of Windwhistle and Oakhaven hangs in the balance, as Eira confronts the past and discovers the true meaning of her magic—and the transformative power of human connection.
