The Clouds – Aristophanes

A comedy that dares to question intelligence, education, and truth itself.

In The Clouds, Aristophanes presents a brilliant and biting satire of philosophy and intellectual trends in ancient Athens. At the center is a desperate man who enrolls his son in a “Thinkery” to learn clever arguments—only to discover the dangers of twisted logic and moral confusion.

Featuring a humorous portrayal of Socrates, the play pokes fun at new ideas while raising serious questions about education, ethics, and the misuse of knowledge.

Perfect for readers of classic literature, comedy, and satire, The Clouds offers:

Sharp and entertaining social and philosophical satire Insight into ancient debates on education and reasoning Humor that remains relevant even today A classic work that blends comedy with critique

Bold, witty, and thought-provoking, The Clouds reminds us that not all knowledge leads to wisdom.

When clever thinking replaces honest truth, what do we lose?
